CONFIDENT; it is abundantly clear noel has plenty of faith in himself. he walks with authority and is quick and certain in his decision making. he seems to know what he's doing, and he isn't afraid or embarrassed to ask questions when he's curious or uncertain of something. ADAPTIVE; one would think such a spoiled brat would have trouble adjusting to the life of a traveling pokemon master, but he's settled into it just fine. he is intelligent and flexible, able to change to better suit his surroundings without it taking too much of a toll one him. it also helps in battle, as he's able to change tactics quickly if he sees he's losing control of the field. PURPOSEFUL; if he's going to do something, he's going to put his all into it. when he really cares about a project, he does everything he can to see it is done perfectly, without a single flaw. he's very passionate about certain things, and, while he can get lazy with some projects, goes above and beyond what's expected when working on something important to him. he rarely does things just "to have something to do." there's a reason behind everything he does. COMPOSED; even when angry he manages to come off as if he's keeping a cool head. his blood may be boiling under the surface of his skin, but he's able to be knocked around or teased and not so much as bat an eyelash. he holds himself together quite well and tries to maintain his dignity. even when angry, he rarely explodes. honestly, he prefers to control and direct his rage rather than lash out at everyone around him. AFFECTIONATE; he likes touching. running his fingers through people's hair, patting their hands, rubbing their arms, kissing their cheek or nuzzling against their neck. he needs the contact and he enjoys it. he's not ashamed of it, either. he likes to smile and he likes seeing other people smile. or become incredibly uncomfortable and try to squirm away, either works. NEGATIVE TRAITS MANIPULATIVE; noel will do whatever it takes to see that he has his way. he really doesn't care what that means for anyone else. he'll say what needs said and do what needs done to convince others to let him have what it is he wants. he'll build a man up or tear him down, spoil him or break his heart. whatever helps him get his way. CONCEITED; his thoughts are always revolving around himself. his own needs. his own wants. he spends little, if any time, thinking about others. he's arrogant and cocky, bordering on narcissistic. he thinks he's absolutely amazing, and he doesn't see why anyone would disagree. UNGRATEFUL; did you try your best? he doesn't fucking care. did he get what he wanted? if you did, cool. if not, try the fuck again or get out before he kicks you into the damn wall. noel is spoiled, and no matter how hard anyone tries, it will never be enough for him. even if they succeed. he'll tell a person he's happy once or twice to fool them into thinking it can be done, but he's never impressed. not with anyone other than himself, at least. AGGRESSIVE; violence is often the answer. a good beating, a little choking, a nice old game of "i'll show you whose boss" and things often just fall into place right after. he's quite physically aggressive with his slaves, and is verbally aggressive with anyone who dares to get in his way. besides the obvious, angry aggression he shows when pushed too far, there's also that almost animalistic drive to get things done and see that he has his way. everything he does is done aggressively. there's simply no gentle way of going about things. RECKLESS; he doesn't care much for the consequences of his actions. someone else can deal with that. he'll do what he wants when he feels like it, and oops if something happens because of that. really, it's the same problem his father had that dragged them all into debt. he can slow down and think of how something will effect him in the future, but he doesn't care to. he doesn't have the patience. and when he does have the patience for it, he can't bring himself to care anyway. INSINCERE; he'll smother a person in kisses and love, lavish them and compliment them, tell them they've done well and that he's impressed. but he rarely, rarely means it. if he's ever event meant it before. he really will either just say what benefits him most at the moment or whatever cruel statement pops into his head first. so if it's something nice, chances are he doesn't mean it. he's either saying it to mock someone or because he hopes to manipulate them later on. LIKES ADORATION; noel simply loves being loved. he likes to know people like him, wants to know when someone feels they need him. he does fine without it of course, he knows he's a wonderful person and anyone who disagrees is just laughable. it makes him feel stronger though, it gives him a sort of power, and it really boosts his already overinflated ego. OBEDIENCE; it calms him to see his slaves obey without putting up much of a fight. while he doesn't always reward them for it, he will from time to time. with as many other things he stresses himself with, having to worry about a disobedient slave just isn't something he wants to add to his list of anxieties. he almost appreciates such behavior. in fact, he probably would. if it weren't what they were supposed to be doing in the first place. CHALLENGES; as much as he hates hard work, he loves a challenge. things that work his mind rather than his body. he enjoys manipulating people, guessing the next move in a battle, trying to outwit his opponents, and getting involved in anything competitive. he likes to win, and he likes when it's made difficult for him so he can really prove himself. even if he's only proving himself to himself. WARMTH; the warmth of a fire at night, the sun's rays during the day, the warmth of another body resting beside him. it's comforting to him. it actually puts him in a decent mood. he seems to gravitate toward warm things, slowly, and oftentimes unknowingly, inching his way toward whatever the nearest heatsource is. STARGAZING; something about the stars is amazing to him. perhaps it's the fact that they are constant, organized. always in the same place, always expected, and always nice to look at. he can stare into the sky for hours on a clear night, and it helps to settle him when he's upset over something. COFFEE; oh god coffee. nothing quite helps noel to unwind like a hot mug of dark, bitter coffee. no matter what his mood, he can almost instantly be calmed down by a mug of the stuff. he often drinks it when he's tired, and, surprisingly, rather than wake him up it helps to slow him down and put him to sleep. DISLIKES HARD WORK; laze, laze, laze. he really just wants to relax. take a nap. cuddle a slave or two, have something good to eat and go to sleep again. he doesn't ask for much, only to be comfortable and not have to move. sloth is one of his greatest sins, and nothing turns him off more than hard work. he'll do it if the reward is great enough, but chances are he'll complain once or twice. BEING IGNORED; one of the quicker ways to get on noel's bad side, ignore him. every snarky comment to come out of his mouth is important in his mind. in fact every damn thing he does is more significant than anything you'll ever do. for anyone to have the gall to ignore him just really gets under his skin. slaves especially. he'll ignore it for a while, but the longer it takes him to react, the more severe the punishment will be. COWARDS; in his opinion, if you're afraid to speak you shouldn't. if you're afraid to do something, don't bother. if you're scared all the time, why do you even bother wasting everyone's time with living? he steps all over people and doesn't give a shit. to see people cower just makes him put them as low as dogs. he hates it, even if it does let him get what he wants. COLD WEATHER; he's never handled the cold very well. he gets sick rather easily, and dreary, colorless weather is a drag for him. having to be bundled up and cuddled under blankets wouldn't be so bad, but it restricts him from being able to get out and do things. oddly enough, it's the only time the lazy bastard ever feels like actually doing anything. WAITING; noel has never been the most patient man. he can't stand to be kept waiting. if he doesn't care enough to wait, he'll just leave. even if he's arrived early and the person would be on time, sometimes he just disappears because he didn't feel like waiting for the appointed time. don't bother getting angry about it. he won't care if it bothers you. POKEMON; what are they, exactly? weird. big. goofy-looking things with massive eyes or huge heads or ugly stone plates all over their bodies. they're just not the most interesting things to look at. he prefers shifters in their human states. battles would be much more entertaining if he could pit them against each other like that. FEARS / GOALS LOSING EVERYTHING; the thought of losing absolutely everything is absolutely terrifying to noel. already having to see his home slowly be pulled apart as they lost more and more money, having to see something similar happen again would be enough to make him crack. he needs his control. he needs his things. he needs his slaves. he just needs. he couldn't survive without them. BEING OVERPOWERED BY HIS OWN SLAVES; as poorly as he treats them, he expects nothing less than to be worshiped by them. their eternal devotion and adoration. if they were to turn on him he wouldn't know what to do. --- COLLECT AND TRAIN AN UNBEATABLE TEAM; he doesn't like to lose. for everyone to acknowledge they had no chance of beating him. well. that would be just amazing for him. he doesn't want to be famous, he doesn't care if he's rich. he just doesn't want to be beaten. PULL HIS FAMILY OUT OF DEBT; selfish as he is, he can't help but send a portion of his winnings back to his family. they did spoil him, after all. the least he can do is give back a little something. truth be told he loves his family. not the people, exactly. but the concept, perhaps.
