BATTLE RULES
◎ BASE HP;;
Level 5-10 = 20 HP
Level 11+ = 2x Level
The base hp is the amount of hp a pokemon will have. pokemon level 5-10 have 20 hp. Above that the hp is always double the Pokemon's level.
◎ BASE DAMAGE;;
Level 5-10 = 3
Level 11-24 = 5
Level 25-44 = 8
Level 45-64 = 10
Level 65-84 = 15
Level 85-100 = 20
The base damage is the damage one Pokemon will do to another before stat changes, extra damage, move power, special states, and level differences are taken into consideration.
◎ LEVEL DIFFERENCES;;
Lower Levelled Pokemon- Inflicts Base Damage
Higher Levelled Pokemon- Inflicts Base Damage + Difference between levels
Same levelled Pokemon- Inflicts Base Damage
For this, all you must keep in mind is that the lower-levelled Pokemon will do only the base damage. However, the higher-levelled Pokemon will do the base damage PLUS the difference between levels. If both Pokemon are the same level, they both do the base damage.
◎ STAT CHANGES;;
Stat Changes to Your Pokemon:
Defense+ = Subtract the amount from the Base Damage if opponent used a Physical attack
Defense- = Add the amount to the Base Damage if opponent used a Physical attack
Special Defense+ = Subtract the amount from the Base Damage if opponent used a Special attack
Special Defense- = Add the amount to the Base Damage if opponent used a Special attack
Stat Changes to Opponent Pokemon:
Attack+ = Add the amount to the Base Damage if opponent uses a Physical Attack
Attack- = Subtract the amount from the Base Damage if opponent uses a Physical Attack
Special Attack+ = Add the amount to the Base Damage if opponent uses a Special Attack
Special Attack- = Subtract the amount from the Base Damage if opponent uses a Special Attack
Note that since you figure the damage your own Pokemon takes, only your Defense and the opponent's Attack stats are relevant to you. This is always true. Your Attack and your opponent's defense will only determine how much damage you should be inflicting on them.
◎ EXTRA DAMAGE;;
Critical Hit= Damage is doubled
Super-Effective Attack= Damage is doubled
Not Very Effective Attack= Damage is halved
STAB~ Same-Type Attack= Damage multiplied by 1.5
Environmental Hazards= Add 1-10 damage, depending on severity
Obviously, whether or not an attack was a critical hit is up to the one receiving the damage. However, these should happen occasionally, especially if the attack used has a high critical-hit ratio, or the opponent has used a Dire Hit, or some other critical-hit boosting item/attack. 'Super Effective' and 'Not Very Effective' are common Pokemon knowledge. Just check a Type Matchup chart to know these. Same-Type attacks are obvious; If the opponent used an attack of which the type matched it's type, the damage done to your Pokemon increases, and vice versa.
Environmental hazards are unique; You do not have to use them at all. They are such things as your Pokemon hitting a tree, slamming into a rock, falling into a lake, etc. They are mainly used when the battle is desired to be over more quickly.
◎ DODGE SYSTEM;;
2 dodges per battle
Naturally, add a dodge for each level your opponent has decreased Accuracy, or you have increased Evasiveness. Subtract a dodge for each level your opponent has increased Accuracy, or you have decreased Evasiveness.
◎ EXPERIENCE SYSTEM;;
1 level for losing
2 levels for winning
Besides battles, there are other ways to gain experience and levels. Rare candies will immediately level the Pokemon it was used on up by one.
◎ SPEED SYSTEM;;
+3 Speed = 1 More Defensive Attack Per Turn
+5 Speed = 1 More Offensive Attack Per Turn
-3 Speed = Only 1 Attack Per Turn
-5 Speed = Only 1 Attack Every Other Turn
Base Speed of a Pokemon has no in-battle effects, besides offering creative liscense while role-playing. The higher a Pokemon's Speed stat becomes, the lower chance of the opponent landing a Critical Hit. The lower a Pokemon's Speed stat becomes, the higher chance of the opponent landing a Critical Hit.
Pokemon can normally use 1 Offensive and 1 Defensive attack per turn in a battle, however changes in Speed will affect the amount of attacks you Pokemon can use in a turn.
